Swedish massage
Swedish massage is the most common and best-known type of massage in the West. It is a combination of many different techniques rolled into one session. During this therapy session Alexander will work with the soft tissues and muscles in the body to help restore balance and health. The end result will relax all of the muscles in your body and to release any pain that tension may exist.
A Swedish body massage is the perfect way for anyone who is overly worked and stressed out to relax their body and mind. By relieving muscle tension, Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energizing. And it may even help after an injury.
Lomi Lomi Massage
Lomi Lomi, (also known as Hawaiian Temple Style massage), is a unique flowing and oil-based massage. It uses long a fluid rhythmic strokes over the while body using the hands, fingers, forearms and elbows to apply a soft and deep tissue massage. The rhythmic and dance like flow is deeply relaxing with strokes from the neck down to the foot.
Deep Tissue Massage
This massage technique focuses on deeper layers of muscles, tendons and fascia (connective tissue). It releases chronic muscle tension and muscle fibres whilst relaxing and soothing the muscles of the body. Deep tissue massage is therapeutic, and corrective. This massage can be full body or focused on specific muscle groups.
Lava Shell:
Lava shell massage is greatly enjoyable for anyone with tense muscles, as the heat from the Lava Shell will gently relax and smooth away knots. The Lava Shell owe their magic to a mix of minerals including dried sea kelp, dead seasalt, algae and essential oils. The heated shells also give off calcium ions, which transfers to your skin during the massage. Calcium can help to firm and regenerate the skin - a nice bonus.
Hot and Cold stone massage
During a hot stone massage, smooth, flat, heated stones are placed on specific parts of your body. The stones are usually made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat. The stones may be placed along your spine, on your stomach, on your our chest, on your face, on your palms, and/or on your feet and toes. Cold stones may be used after hot stones to calm any engorged blood vessels and to soothe the skin.
